Overview

With a brightness of 3000 lumens, the MH630 Full HD DLP Projector from BenQ is designed to bring the big-screen HD experience to a small room. It features a 1.3x zoom and a 1.15 to 1.5:1 throw ratio, providing the flexibility to adapt to screens and rooms of various sizes. In addition to its native resolution of 1920 x 1080, the projector can support a range of non-native resolutions using internal scaling, from 480i SD up to 1600 x 1200 (UXGA).

An assortment of inputs means the projector can be connected to all kinds of devices, from legacy VCRs to Blu-ray Disc players, as well as show many types of 3D content. For HD equipment and computers, it features an HDMI input plus two VGA inputs, which can also take a component signal using a separately available passive adapter or cable. For analog SD there is an S-video input and a composite input, and there are three analog audio inputs (one per VGA input and one shared by S-video and composite).

Apart from the included IR remote, the projector can also be integrated with an automation system, such as Crestron, using its RS-232 port.

Single-Chip DLP Technology
Uses a combination of a chip covered in millions of micro-mirrors and a color wheel to produce an image. DLP features less spacing between pixels and better contrast than many comparable LCD-based systems
1.3x Zoom and 1.15 to 1.5:1 Throw Ratio
Throw ratio is one of the most important specifications a projector lens has as it tells you the image size (width) you will get at a given distance from the screen. For example, at the 1.3x zoom setting and a 6' distance from the screen, this projector will throw a 63"-wide (72"-diagonal) image
16:9 Native Aspect Ratio
This projector features Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, which results in a 16:9 "widescreen" native aspect ratio - the standard for HDTVs. In addition, the projector can show 4:3 content, either by adding black bars to the sides (pillaring), stretching the image to fit, or cropping the image
3000 Lumens Lamp
A single lamp provides 3000 lumens brightness in Normal mode, and is estimated to last 4000 hours (up to 6500 hours if used constantly in the lowest brightness mode). To determine the ideal brightness level for your application, you will need to take into account the screen width, distance from the projector to the screen (throw distance), amount of ambient light near the screen, and the reflectivity (gain) of the screen surface used
3D Support and Compatibility
This projector is compatible with a range of 3D devices, including Blu-ray Disc players, many computers, game consoles, and more (active 3D glasses required, available separately). 3D implementations supported are:
  • Frame Sequential: Up to 720p
  • Frame Packing: Up to 1080p
  • Side by Side: Up to 1080i/p
  • Top Bottom: Up to 1080p
SmartEco Mode
When activated, this feature dims the lamp power automatically, helping reduce power consumption and extend lamp life
No-Source-Detected Mode
Automatically switches to Eco Blank Mode after the projector is turned on for over three minutes without a display source, reducing lamp power by 70%. Additionally, the projector powers off completely after 30 minutes with no source thanks to the Auto Power Off feature
Quick Installation
By pressing the Quick Install key on the remote control, the installer can quickly access installation related functions in the OSD (on-screen display) menu
Audio Pass Through
A 10 watt built-in speaker is provided for those times when you don't have a separate sound system. Additionally, you can still use the speaker even with the projector in Standby mode
Upper Lamp Door for Easy Lamp Access
The upper lamp door is designed so that it can easily be accessed when the projector is mounted up-side-down with a ceiling or wall mount. This means it can be changed without taking the projector down
