4 Key Qualities Realized by CASIOs Laser & LED Hybrid Light Source
Laser & LED Hybrid Light Source supporting high-brightness projection without mercuryECOLOGY
CASIO has applied its unique new Laser & LED Hybrid Light Source to achieve breakthrough development of a mercury-free high-brightness
projector. Adopting a new semiconductor-based light source system combining a blue laser, phosphor and a red LED, we have achieved both
high-brightness performance enabling projection in well-lit rooms and environmental friendliness with mercury eliminated from the light source.
Revolutionary new light source technology
CASIO developed a new semiconductor light source technology combining a red LED, phosphor and a blue laser. This source achieves high luminance safely
by employing a phosphor device to modify the wavelengths and phases of blue laser light.
Approximately 20,000-hour long-life light source with less brightness degradationECONOMY
* Compared with conventional CASIO models,
as of February 2011. Source: CASIO
The light sources life of approximately 20,000 hours far outshines that of conventional projectors that require mercury lamp replacement. It saves
maintenance labor and contributes to a significant reduction in operating costs. Since brightness degradation is more gradual than with mercury
lamps, moreover, it maintains vivid image quality through long-term use.
Startup as quick as 5-seconds* Fast ON & OFF switching for convenient usabilityUSABILITY
Projection at maximum brightness is achieved in as few as five seconds, and the time from startup to screen display is shortened dramatically,
facilitating more effective use of limited time. No cooling down is necessary, moreover, when the power is turned OFF. Users can complete the
process from setting up to packing up smartly and speedily.
Enhanced beauty and realism A further leap forward in
color reproductionVISIBILITY
The dramatic improvement in color purity achieved by the new light source has significantly improved color reproduction. Not only are the colors
clearer and more beautiful, but the projected images also look brighter due to the visual effects of the high-purity colors. Users benefit from
clearer, more powerful images than conventional projectors can achieve.
Concern for todays high environmental quality standards
CASIO has developed a light source with no mercury lamp to eliminate the release of mercury, a highly toxic element, and adopted energy- and
resource-saving designs. Superior environmental performance is also achieved by innovations such as Intelligent Brightness Control, which adjusts
the projection brightness automatically depending on the level of illumination in the surrounding environment and contributes to daily power
savings.
Compatibility with 3D contents
A DLP 3D projection function* enables stereoscopic image display that is impossible with 2D projection. This can enhance viewers'
understanding of presentation contents. A built-in 5W speaker further expands the possibilities for presentations.
* See Functions.
Note: Separately available 3D Glasses for CASIO Projectors (YA-G30) are required for 3D image viewing. See Options.
Support for wireless LAN and PC-free presentations
A wireless LAN function (IEEE802.11b/g) with MobiShow* compatibility is installed for versatility. Wireless connection with smart
phones and other mobile devices as well as with Windows PCs is also possible. The inclusion of a USB 2.0 host function* enables users
to project presentation materials saved in USB memory with no PC connection.

Linkage to CASIO Digital Equipment
The XJ-M155 Signature Model XGA DLP Multimedia Projector from Casio features a hybrid LED/laser light source that outputs 3000 lumens and lasts up to
20,000 hours. A single-chip 0.55" DLP imaging device delivers a 1024 x 768 (XGA) native resolution and 4:3 native aspect ratio. Thanks to internal scaling
capability, the projector can also accept non-native signals up to 1080p for HDTV and 1600 x 1200 (UXGA) for computer sources.
For connection to a computer, Blu-ray or DVD player, A/V system, document camera, or just about any other video source, the projector features an HDMI
input, a VGA input, and a legacy composite input. The VGA input also supports component by using a separately available component (YCbCr/YPbPr) to VGA
adapter or cable. A USB port allows you to connect a storage device such as a flash drive to give "PC-less" presentations. It also allows you to connect
the included YW-3 wireless LAN adapter. With this adapter you can give presentations from a Mac or Windows computer or iOS, Android, or Windows Mobile
device.
A wireless IR remote is included, and works from up to 16.4' away. For integration with automation systems like Crestron or control via PJLink-compatible
software, there is an RS-232C port and an Ethernet port.
-
Single Chip DLP Technology
-
Uses a 0.55" chip covered in millions of micro-mirrors to produce an image. DLP features less spacing between pixels and better contrast than many
comparable LCD-based systems, and the design does not require a filter that needs to be replaced.
-
1.5x Manual Zoom with 1.64 to 2.46:1 Throw Ratio
-
Throw ratio is one of the most important specifications a projector lens has as it tells you the image size (width) you will get at a given
distance from the screen. For example, at the 1.25x zoom setting and a 15' distance, this projector will throw a 92"-wide (115"-diagonal) image.
-
Laser/LED Hybrid Light Source
-
Combines the light produced by a laser array and a mercury-free LED lamp plus a florescent element to produce green that together provide a light
source outputting 3000 lumens. This design is more energy efficient than conventional projector lamps and features a life up to 20,000 hours.
Additionally, it enables quick startup and shutdown, with the projector reaching its maximum brightness in a minimum of 8 seconds and no cool-down
period required when shutting down.
Note: The Slim Hybrid Light Source can only be replaced by the Casio Factory Service Center. Disassembly of the projector and/or use of its
technology or components for other purposes is potentially dangerous.
-
USB Functionality
-
-
Provides an alternative way of connecting the projector to a computer - besides HDMI or VGA - to give presentations (requires admin
privileges for first-time connection)
-
Connect the included YW-3 wireless LAN adapter for projecting wirelessly from a computer or mobile device that has the MobiShow app
installed
-
Connect a USB flash drive for "PC-less" presentations
-
PC-Less Presentations
-
Using a USB flash drive, card reader, other USB storage device you can give presentations (requires ECA file type), show JPEG images, or play video
directly from the projector. PowerPoint files can be converted to ECA using the EZ-Converter FA software, meanwhile some video files may need to be
converted using the ArcSoft MediaConverter 3 first - these include MP4, MOV and many AVI files.
-
Wireless Presentations with MobiShow
-
With the MobiShow app you beam presentations wirelessly from your smartphone or tablet. The app is compatible with iOS, Android, and Windows
Mobile, and requires the device have a Wi-Fi interface so that an ad-hoc connection can be made with the projector's WLAN adapter.
-
YW-3 Wireless LAN Adapter
-
-
Give presentations from a Mac or Windows computer with Wi-Fi (requires installation of wePresent software for use on Mac). For classroom
and workshop applications, or presentations with multiple speakers, you can connect up to 32 computers simultaneously
-
Connect a mobile device that has the MobiShow app installed
-
4:3 Native Aspect Ratio
-
This projector features the XGA format, which produces a 4:3 aspect ratio picture optimal for PowerPoint presentations and many still image
formats. The wider 16:9 HDTV and 16:10 computer aspect ratios can still be displayed - either by cropping the sides of the image, "letterboxing"
(filling the remaining space with black bars top and bottom), or applying an anamorphic squeeze, which distorts the picture.
-
RS-232 Controllable
-
An RS-232 port allows you to operate this projector remotely using custom-developed software or an automation system such as Crestron.
-
Supports DLP-Link Active 3D Glasses
-
Because of the high scan rate of the DLP devices, 3D sync data for active shutter glasses can be sandwiched between video frames. This requires a
compatible graphics card and compatible software - such as a 3D video game - as well as DLP-Link enabled 3D glasses, available separately.
