TheYamaha R-N500 Network Receiverfeatures discrete amp configuration that supports 2-channels of stereo sound powered at up to 80W RMS per channel. There's also an unpowered subwoofer pre-out. The system supports network connectivity and provides AirPlay streaming as well. It works with Yamaha's free NP Controller app and supports sound enhancing ToP-ART technology.

The R-N500 has a variety of connectivity options. There are multiple analog audio inputs, as well as dual optical and dual coaxial digital audio inputs. There is also a network RJ-45 Ethernet jack and a front panel USB port where you can hook-up your iPod, iPhone, iPad USB thumb drive or other USB-equipped digital music player.

The system also supports FLAC or WAV 192kHz/24-bit audio playback and you can listen to virtually any Internet source including vTuner Internet Radio and Pandora. There's even an ECO-mode for energy conservation. The system works with optional Wi-Fi or Bluetooth adapters as well.

Internet Radio & Access to Music Streaming: Support for the vTuner radio station database enables sampling of Internet radio broadcasts throughout the world by connecting to the Internet over a LAN. Furthermore, support for music streaming allows you to enjoy a wide variety of music content.

Network Technology: This Yamaha receiver supports FLAC 96/24 (high quality lossless format), compatibility with Windows 7 and DLNA 1.5 (for finding and playing digital sources), and WebBrowser Control from a PC or PDA.

Listen with Pandora: Pandora is free, personalized radio that plays music and comedy. ToP-ART Sound Quality Design & High-Quality Parts: Everything in the R-N500 has been built for maximum performance and quality. The internal design utilizes simple, direct transmission of the signals - ensuring optimum separation, elimination of noise and distortion, and pure sound reproduction. Pure Direct Mode: Engaging the Pure Direct switch causes the audio signal to bypass the control circuits for bass, treble, balance and the back buffer amp. Continuously Variable Loudness Control: The R-N500 features a dedicated loudness control on the front panel, which lets you adjust the loudness effect as desired. Separate from the overall volume, this controls the balance of the low and high frequency sounds, providing full tonal range at any volume level, compensating for the natural loss in the human ear of high and low frequencies at soft levels.
